2002 Changes to Apparatus Competition

The following are changes recommended by the Rules and Contest Committee in regards to apparatus judging.

Brush Trucks

Any truck, pick-up style, or with compartmentalized body, or flat bed body; with a slide-in unit consisting of a water tank not to exceed 400 gallons.   An auxiliary powered pump. (No PTO or split shaft pump allowed)

Mini-Pumper

Any truck with a compartmentalized body, a 500 gpm or less PTO or split shaft pump and a water tank not to exceed 400 gallons.  The chassis shall not exceed 17,500 gvw. (can be under 17,500 gvw)

Tanker

Any truck with a tank size of 1200 gallons and over, with a "Quick-Dump" system.  No rule regarding pump size.  There will be two (2) judging categories - one for rural departments not located in a corporate town limits and one for departments located in a corporate town limits.

Truck Registration

All trucks will register on the morning of the convention.  All trucks to be judged are to be on site by 9:30 a.m.  No exceptions !! The committee will determine what category each truck will be placed in based upon the information provided by the member department.

The Rules and Contest Committee's decision will be final.

As a reminder, the host department is responsible for providing three (3) judges that are not affiliated with the association for the apparatus judging.
